A little about me, our company and this podcast

I’m Liz Hartke. I’m a business leadership strategist and founder of the Luminary Leadership Company. We are a family run business. We run it with me, my hubby Michael, and our incredible team as we are raising our four little luminaries out here on our hobby farm. But my days didn’t always look like waking up with the sun and homeschooling our kids while teaching entrepreneurs how to find space for business and success and family legacy. I went from hustling in my corporate career, hating it, to building this business over a decade ago that I thought would bring my family and me freedom. But ultimately it trapped me in the day-to-day that I was trying to escape from in corporate. Sound familiar?

So ultimately I created the processes, the systems, the team, and the leadership skills to craft a freedom filled multi-million dollar leadership company that helps other entrepreneurs streamline, scale and focus on what matters so that they can actually fully enjoy life away from their businesses too while the ripple effect of their mission still reverberates, meaning they don’t have to trade time for money to see success, and  their worth isn’t tied up in productivity. They see growth even when they’re not in that hustle stage and they know with certainty what’s next. They know what they are stepping into. What they are being called to and they have the courage and the tools and are equipped to jump into it full force. 

Changing the measure of success

It was after years upon years of wishing I could just finally wake up with the clarity and the vision and the time to do what I loved and wondering how I could ever sustain such an impossible pace long term to get to where we are now. And now we measure our success not just by profits though those are certainly important. We talk about it a lot on the show and definitely not by the number of hours we work per week or per day, but by our connection to our family.

The freedom in our schedule, not just flexibility because we’re entrepreneurs, but actual time freedom, money freedom, creative freedom, and whether we’re prolific in our work. So many of us want to make that impact, but we’re just putting up another social media post and we’re just putting out more content or doing another launch. How do you become prolific and known for what you do and create the wealth and impact to ultimately serve others with magic and possibility? They happen when you emerge from the hurry and the overwhelm and the tasks of the day-to-day and you step into a level of leadership that allows you to break through to your next level. And that is what I want for you too. 

Becoming the leader you are called to be

So what is a luminary? Why is that a big piece of the name of our company? Well, it’s a person who inspires or influences others, especially one who is prominent in a particular sphere and we believe that’s you. The entrepreneur is ready for your next level of success, but unwilling to sacrifice your values and your freedom and the legacy you’re creating or your family to get there. You’re going to do it your way and you’re going to do it in a way that so few other people realize is available to them. That’s what we’re all about here. 

We really do understand the struggle of being an overwhelmed entrepreneur because we’ve been overwhelmed entrepreneurs.

We want to shift to become the visionary leaders that we’re all called to be, while also at the same time juggle the reality of the world with our everyday demands of business and life. Especially because many of us have families too. And we believe there’s a better way to achieve success that protects what matters most, which is why we created a space within this show to equip overwhelmed entrepreneurs so they can become the confident leaders with their business, team, family, and legacy needed in order to actually win.
